Message from the organisers

Important update on the Wicked Welsh Weekend – issued on 6th September 2021.

We have unfortunately encountered several issues over the past week which are out of our control, this means that the Wicked Welsh will not be run on exactly the same lines as usual.

The runs on Friday, Saturday, & Sunday as well as the ‘Show and Shine’ on Sunday will operate as normal but many of the evening and meal arrangements have had to be changed. Everyone who has told us they are attending has been sent details of the new arrangements (by email, Facebook, or telephone as appropriate).  If you have already booked accommodation for WWW but have not informed us (don’t forget that the campsite and B&Bs don’t pass on contact details – that is why we always ask you to let us know separately) please contact us on:

as soon as possible so we can send you the updated info.

Remember – the camping field at Llangorse is now full. When we allow for those in Static Caravans and B&Bs it is as many attendees as we can sensibly take this year. Apologies to those who haven’t booked yet – hope to see you next year.

Message from the organisers

The camping field at Llangorse is now full. This is the first time we have actually achieved this and, when we allow for those in Static Caravan and B&Bs, it is as many attendees as we can sensibly take this year. Apologies to those who haven’t booked yet – hope to see you next year. Remember – next year – book early and let us know as soon as posssible using the dedicated email address below”

The 2021 event will be held (Covid or other restrictions permitting!!!) at the Llangorse Lakeside campsite (www.llangorselake.co.uk) in the Brecon Beacons from Friday 17th to Sunday 19th September 2021 inclusive.  Most of the 10 static caravans (4 berth & 6 berth) reserved for our exclusive use are already taken by people carrying over bookings from the cancelled WWW2020 event but it may be worth enquiring with the site as regards availability. For camping we have reserved Ernie’s Field (26 pitches all with EHU). The format of the event will hopefully be similar to previous years.

Bookings can be made from now – contact the site directly – details below.  Please book by telephone as, having reserved Ernie’s Field & the static caravans for our exclusive use, the website will say that there is limited availability. There may be a deposit payable upon booking. If you experience any problems with booking please let us know and we will deal with the issues arising – however remember that the campsite reception office is not always manned full time in the winter months.

Bed & breakfast accommodation is available in Llangorse village (within walking distance) with further accommodation in nearby Bwlch and Brecon – see http://aroundllangorselake.co.uk/accommodation.

Whichever accommodation option you take PLEASE can you also let the organisers know separately who is attending and on which days by contacting Roy (via the Forum, or by PM or email if you prefer not to announce publically that you will be away from home) as we need to know how many plan to attend in order to make arrangements for event packs, meals, space for car parking on runs, etc. Please can anyone carrying over reservations from last year also confirm their plans in the same manner.

Site Contact Details:

Llangorse Lakeside Caravan and Camping Park: Telephone – 01874 658226 or email – holidays@llangorselake.co.uk.  You MUST mention that you are booking as part of the Imp Club Wicked Welsh Weekend or you won’t be put on ‘our’ field!

Wicked Welsh Weekend – General Information

About the event

Crossing the Newport Transporter Bridge – 2013

The Wicked Welsh Weekend (WWW) has been an annual fixture (normally held on the 3rd weekend in September) on the Imp Club Calendar since 1999. It started as a small gathering organised by Neil & Tina at the Rising Sun pub & campsite in Pandy (just outside Abergavenny) and has grown over the years into a 3 day ‘long weekend’ featuring scenic runs, evening get-togethers (including the infamous ‘Naffle’ – a wicked welsh interpretation of a raffle) and meals, and an informal ‘Show & Shine’.

In 2017 Neil & Tina asked other members of the South & West Wales Area Centre to take over the organisation and the year after that WWW moved from the Rising Sun to the Lakeside Caravan & Camping site at Llangorse (near Brecon) although the format of WWW remains essentially unchanged. The Llangorse site provides excellent camping facilities as well as a number of static caravans for hire. There is also a good selection of B&B accommodation nearby.

Big Pit – Blaenavon – 2014
Pwll Bo car park in the Twfi Forest near Abergwesyn – 2016
Imps parked overlooking the Usk valley & Black Mountains – 2018
