The Imp has always had, and very much still has, a strong presence in motorsport.
In the 60’s and 70’s the Imp had many successes in rallying, racing and autosport, and today the Imp is still competitive in rallies and races.

2026 Events

Results are in from the racing this weekend at Cadwell Park (see below). Next up, in May, is the racing at Oulton Park.

Thruxton Retro • July 2026

The Thruxton Retro attracts car enthusiasts from all over the UK and beyond. This event is not just about racing on track, but it also features an impressive display of retro, classic, historic and vintage cars from various car clubs, allowing attendees to experience the rich history of automotive engineering.

Thruxton is always a highlight in the racing calendar for Imp owners and several racing Imps were out on the track again. This weekend’s results, for Race 3, are:

Oulton Park • May 2026:

Some great racing this weekend again. James Ibbotson led much of the racing and took the win whilst Brendon, Adrian, Steven, David remained high in the pack.

Cadwell Park • April 2026:

Cadwell Park this weekend has seen several Imps out in the Pre66 touring car race. Adrian, Steve, Jerry, Dave, Gary and Bren attended.

Saturday 12 April’s Results

Great racing today. Brendan Rooney looked to have a good start, but Steve Platts overtook for a while, however, Brendan soon got the place back and held 1st in class through to the finish to take a double win this weekend.

Adrian Oliver was chasing behind but unable to catch them. Sadly, Gary Prebble had an alternator failure on the formation lap and had to retire, and Jeremy Dyas was unable to start after his retirement in Saturday’s race.

Donnington Park • March 2026:
