Monday 4 August

Packup day today. It’s always a heavy moment when closing down a National Event after its all over. The event team today wished everyone a safe onward travel as they departed and then did a final check-around the site before leaving. Until the next time then….

The last car; the final goodbye. Tim’s Husky taking away the last bits from the National.

Sunday 3 August

Today’s main focus has been the display of cars. The lawn behind the large house was a lovely setting for the display and provided ample space for the presentation of all the cars.

Saturday 2 August

The scenic run began with the first group of Imps right on time, and these were followed soon after by other groups during the morning.

First group of Imps leaving on the ‘scenic tour’.

Today started off beautifully with lovely dawn scenes. The hot air balloon floating overhead was a sight to see.

Our lineup of 40 Imps at Amberley Museum for the public to view.

Lots of fun today at the Amberley Museum. So much to see. With our cars parked up inside the museum their lineup became an attraction for others and generated quite a bit of interest of course!

And earlier this morning; what a great start to the day. The weather looks fine at this early hour of the day before most of us are up.

Thursday 31 July : Welcome Day

Even with the little rain today the weather has certainly not put a damper on the start of our event. The National Team have welcomed many arrivals since Rally Control opened at midday.

Check out the schedule for the next few days in the programme booklet or here in this page above.

Wednesday 30 July : setup day

With the “setup team” now on site, our National is taking shape. The marquee is up and most of the extra facilities are in place. Rally Control will be looking forward to welcoming arrivals tomorrow.

July 2025 Update

Our National Event is soon! Have you booked your space at the place yet? Online bookings close, with the DISCOUNTED prices, on Monday 28 July to enable the team to complete their admin. Bookings will of course be accepted at Rally Control on the day, but this will take longer and won’t benefit from the discount. The weather is looking good – get your booking in if you haven’t done so yet.

Pre-booking is now closed but you are welcome to join us over the weekend – pay on arrival!

It’s a long way to travel from Scotland and the North, but we hope members from all areas will venture to the National again. We are even expecting to see a few members from overseas, from Europe and beyond!

And here it all begins…..

Below is the outline itinerary for the days, and the usual high-quality printed programme will provide more information of course.

Today, with the combined effort of Stewart Waghorn and Tim Sears, the club’s event trailer has found it’s way to the event site already and even some of the setup has begun by the Springbok team. The marquee is going up and other facilities are being installed.

Stewart Waghorn and Tim Sears make sure the club trailer is ready for unloading the National’s gear

Oh so much to look forward to – if the National is your thing of course.

The event organisers are looking forward to welcoming the regular event-goers as well as those new to the routine. If you have any questions about the arrangements please do contact the lead organiser, Colin Rooney or Tim Sears, using the contacts in the recent Impressions magazine or use the contact form below:

February 2025 Update:

Our plans are shaping up nicely for our 2025 National Event this summer, at Cranleigh, Surrey.

In preparation for setting out the layout and some details of the event, the lead organisers visited the site recently and these drone shots provide an overview (literally!) of the site we have booked for our event.

(above) This view shows almost the whole site. The caravan and motorhome parking is lower in the view. The camping pods (not set up at this time of year and not for us to book anyway) above. The main house is on the right side of the view with the grass lawn to its rear, in the upper-centre of the view. The grass field (top of the view, the pale coloured green at this time of year) is the large camping field which we will use.
(above) This is one part of the site. The main Springbok house is in the lower right of the view with the grass lawn to the rear (the greener looking grass area). We will use the lawn for our Sunday “Show and Shine” lineup. The large field in the centre area of the view is where we will be camping.
(above) Beyond the main house is the front lawn area and the pond. The lawn lower in the view is where the “Show and Shine” will be.
(above) The hard-standing places are easy to access. The winter rains have left puddles this morning but this is not an issue in the summer time.
(above) The entry driveway passes the little lake to the right. The main house is towards the top of the view and the camping field beyond that.
(above) This small lake has fish in it and there is the option of purchasing a day-permit to fish.

Booking details, and lots more information about activities, food, toilets, showers, will be shared in Impressions and online here. Look back regularly for updates!
